Our team of environmental auditors are able to determine, in consultation with your management team, where sources of emissions are from your business, as well as potential upstream and downstream supply chain sources. From this point, we guide you through the audit process to determine an accurate emission profile. At the same time as the greenhouse gas audit, we recommend that you implement an energy efficiency audit to determine where genuine savings can be made. These savings can often be made through simple behavioural change, as well as basic improvements to process and practice in your organisation. When coupled together, the strategy of reducing demand for greenhouse gas emitting practices and processes as well as offsetting the unavoidable emissions provides the best chance to make a substantial contribution to being a big part of the solution to climate change.
Certification with BalanceCarbon
A critical aspect of utilising BalanceCarbon services is the opportunities for product differentiation. We have developed two distinct certifications, which demonstrate commitment to either net zero (ZeroC) or 50% reduction (TargetC) of GHG emissions. Both of these certifications are audited to the standards required by World Resources Institute Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standards, and ISO14064. All carbon credits acquired from BalanceCarbon are certified by either the New South Wales Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme (NGAC’s) or the Australian Greenhouse Office which ensures that at least one tonne of CO2 equivalent has been removed from the atmosphere for every credit purchased. Annual GHG audits are required to ensure verification of GHG emission profile, to allow continued usage of the certification label. Purchasing options for different credit types mean that clients are able to select a certified carbon offset to best match their corporate desires.
