Variety Bash Car 105 Goes A Step Further For the Future of Our Kids.

On their Seventh Annual Variety Bash, Car 105 will take things a step further in contributing to the future of our kids. Their 2800km adventure through South Australia’s Outback will have all of their vehicle emissions offset!

Geoff Aistrope and the team of Variety Bash Car 105 are committing to eliminating their vehicle’s carbon footprint for this years event. This year, Car 105 will be the only low impact vehicle, with emissions from the fuel consumed on the trip offset by BalanceCarbon. Geoff, the owner and one of three Bashers traveling in Car 105 this year said “The bash is a lot of fun. We have a ball and feel good about contributing to the future of these kids, but we realise all the money in the world will be no help if we don’t have a planet that sustains life.”

Local Adelaide-based emissions auditors and credit retailers, BalanceCarbon Pty Ltd, will supply and surrender certified carbon credits on behalf of Car 105 at the end of their journey, when the total distance traveled by Car 105 can be tallied up. “Now we feel extra good about that!” said Geoff.

Balance Carbon’s Managing Director Dr Tim Moore said ‘We are proud to be involved in such an initiative. We feel like we are giving twice: once for the kids Variety Club helps, and the second as a small contribution to the planet they will inherit.”

It is anticipated that at least 3 tonnes of certified carbon offsets will be purchased to offset emissions generated over the course of the 2800 kilometre event, as well as travel to and from home base. “We are really proud to support Car 105 this year and would like to think we can arrange a zero carbon footprint for the entire event next year,’” said Dr Moore. “It’s great to see Geoff and his team so enthusiastic about such a positive initiative.”
