3. Mitigate

Mitigating your emisisons wont always happen over night, but with BalanceCarbon it will happen. The size and structure of your business will largely influence the approach to long and short term mitigation. In some cases significant emission reductions have been achieved by staff behavioural change such as turning computers off at night and switching lights off and re-setting a/c temperatures and run times. Others require a more long term co-ordinated approach, which may involve capital expenditure or policy changes in relation to fleet and other plant and equipment purchasing for example. Through the development and endorsement of your Emissions Management Plan and with support from BalanceCarbon's staff you will be well on your way.

Some businesses make a commitment to purchasing certified emissions reductions (carbon offsets), to effectively offset their CO2 equivelant outputs, because they want to immediately eliminate their contribution to climate change. This is an effective mechanism to do just that and in some cases contribute to not just environmental outcomes, but social and economic outcomes for regions too.
